Fresh from her Kilimanjaro expedition and the filming of a documentary on the devastation of fast fashion, Aoife Mc Namara returned home with a renewed vision.

Inspired by the ancient magic of Irish mythology, she began crafting Otherland - a collection that blurs the line between fashion and fable, rooted in values of ecological awareness and emotional storytelling.

Otherland reimagines heritage through a modern lens, merging mythic Irish folklore with conscious craftsmanship and contemporary silhouettes. This summer, Aoife Mc Namara invites you to step beyond the veil through her latest collection.

Otherland is a dream woven from the ancient whispers of Irish folklore - a love letter to Tír na nÓg, the mythical land of eternal youth and untouched beauty. In this poetic new offering, heritage meets modernity in a confection of wonder, impermanence, and the power of connection.

Inspired by the myth of Tír na nÓg, the land ‘beyond the veil’ where time stands still, Aoife Mc Namara’s collection fuses past, present and future. She manages through design, to offer a reflection on climate change and the fragility of untouched beauty in a collection that explores the duality of magic and impermanence - and just how quickly the dream can vanish.

As with all of Aoife Mc Namara’s designs, Otherland is a celebration of Ireland, it is a tribute to folklore, heritage, and the stories that shape our sense of place. Aoife Mc Namara’s commitment to the natural world is woven throughout each decision she
made in order to bring this collection to life.

From the iridescent sky tones and golden hour hues to the earthy green tweed fast becoming one of her signatures, Aoife has used natural fibres and handcrafted details to tell a story not just of myth and legend, but of Ireland itself. Featuring
flowing, timeless silhouettes and contemporary twists on heritage fabrics, every stitch reflects a growing commitment to Irish design. From shooting the collection in her thatched Adare cottage to working exclusively with ethical suppliers, Aoife has crafted a collection that lives and breathes her values of interconnected design.

‘The philosophy of Interbeing guides not only my design process, but also the way in which our brand operates on a business level. Interbeing means that nothing exists in isolation. From the hands that craft to the land that provides, to the people who wear our designs, everything is part of the same story. Fashion for us, is not just about the creation of beauty - it’s about connection, responsibility and care. Every thread, every decision and every action are interconnected and have consequences.’

As always, working with ethically sourced materials, and collaborating with local craftspeople, was top priority. Aoife Mc Namara has again collaborated with IrelandsEye to create two new versions of her bestselling Irish Woven Cashmere Wool jumpers. Proudly crafted in Dublin, and created with longevity in mind, these jumpers are made to be worn, loved and handed down in a true celebration of slow, sustainable fashion. Exclusive to Otherland, each jumper is a unique expression of the collection and won’t be restocked following the small batch release, again in keeping with the brand’s values and commitment to sustainable business practices.

Rooted in the brand’s ethos, Otherland is more than a collection - it’s a call to consciousness. It invites us to reconnect with the stories of our land, to rewild our imagination, to reprioritise what truly matters, and to rethink our relationship with the world around us. In doing so, we begin to reimagine a future that honours the beauty we risk losing.

At this critical moment in time, we stand at a crossroads: do we hold onto the magic, or let it slip away?

Through the lens of fashion, Otherland becomes a vessel for cultural storytelling and ecological advocacy - a poetic reminder that the choices we make now will shape the world to come.

‘Tír na nÓg isn’t just a legend - it’s a vision of what our world could be.
Otherland is my invitation to remember: Our land, our stories, and the magic
still within reach if we choose to protect it.’
