About shiv
shiv is a Zimbabwean-born, Mayo-based artist who transitioned from DJing to becoming a singer-songwriter and producer, boasting a distinctive sound shaped by her diverse musical upbringing. Influenced by her family's love for music and her relocation to Ireland at a young age, shiv's musical journey has been a lifelong passion. Despite studying Psychology in college, her talent for music became her primary focus after a YouTube video caught the attention of Dublin-based managers, propelling her into a serious music career.
Blending alternative R&B and Low-Fi Hip Hop with soulful elements, shiv's music has gained significant acclaim, amassing over 20 million streams on Spotify and featuring on playlists like New Music Friday, Serotonin and Sweet Soul Sunday among others.. Collaborations with artists like Girls of the Internet under Defected's Classic Music Co label further cemented her rising status. After signing with Warner Music Ireland, shiv released successful singles before returning to independent status, embarking on a solo project for her debut album.
Her impressive resume includes supporting Lana Del Rey, featuring on the soundtrack for the Amazon Prime original movie Your Chrstmas or Mine 2, and performing at prestigious Irish festivals such as Electric Picnic, Forbidden Fruit, and soul festival Cross The Tracks . With her heartfelt lyrics, soulful vocals, and dedication to her craft, shiv is poised to make a significant impact on the music scene with her upcoming debut album.
